Tulip 'Sylvestris'

CHF17,90

This beautiful tulip species is known as the wild tulip. The masses of light yellow flowers are sweetly scented and grow to about 30cm stems in April-May. They are easy to naturalise and propagate. Their unusual swaying stems and carelessly opening petals give these bright yellow tulips a very unique charm.

Tulip 'Sylvestris'

Botanical (wild) tulip

A historic bulb that became naturalized in Northern Europe in the 17th century. Relatively unchanged over the centuries, it is much closer to the original wild tulips and behaves much more naturally. This variety has deep historical roots, but it is also an important part of our gardening future. In Dutch this tulip is also called Bostulp, tulip of the forest. It's no surprise, since sylvestris in Latin means "growing in the forest."
